Another week down, and another hefty week of quality releases across the board. The amount of talent and dancefloor shakers is definitely something not to take lightly, so let's get into it.....

The Funk

GENE FARRIS continues to keep true to his Chicago roots, and his Farris Wheel label has been turning them out lately, as his latest release "Back And Forth" features remixes from MARK FARINA, 1200 WARRIORS, STACEY PULLEN and CHUCK LOVE, and is exclusive to Sompy. As a special bonus, before heading over to Stompy to pick it up, visit Gene's Site and grab the FREE exclusive download of ‘Thought Maybe You Should Know’ feat Chappell. In the local folklore of early NYC house music, one of the early residents of the Wild Pitch parties was BOBBY KONDERS, whose sessions included everything from reggae, hiphop, house and disco and anything was possible. International Deejay Gigolo takes note and pays tribute to Bobby with "A Lost Era in NYC", a selection of tracks which he became infamous for, including one of his best known tracks, 'The Poem'. FRANKIE FELICIANO, SIR PIERS and ERIC KUPPER remix ANANDA PROJECT and HEATHER JOHNSON's "Kiss Kiss Kiss" for Nite Grooves; slamming beats on ANDRE HARRIS' "Juka" for his Innate Soul label; NEIL HODGSON's single "Don't Hold Back" gets remixed by PATRICK GREEN, EDMUND and DEE CRELL on Gotta Keep Faith; with quite a voice in the electronic world and appearing on such labels as Om Records, Lazy Days, and Drop Music after performing in R&B and rock bands for years, NICA BROOKE's sings "Into Your Dream" for ORLANDO VOORN's new label Divine; N DINGA GABA's "So Beautiful" on Blacksoul features remixes from THE JINKS, FILIN BRAKE & GREG DORBAN; the distinguished KENNY BOBIEN is the voice behind "Let Me Apologize" with HARLY & MUSCLE, SPIRITUAL BLESSING and GREGORY DEL PIERO remixes; the GROOVE JUNKIES get "In The Zone" with the first sampler of their upcoming album on their Morehouse label; Brazil's Discotheque drop the deep sounds of FELIPE LOTUFO's "Enfants"; SOUL MINORITY does it again with his remix of "An Insight" for Night Drive; DUAL CITY's "Africentric Urban Orchestra" is released on JAY TRIPWIRE's Tonality, including a remix from Jay himself; and ANDREW CHIBALE makes his debut on Salted Music with "Mango Biche".

He might not get the tour bus with his name on it or his picture on the cover of all the magazines like his label partner Loco Dice, but MARTIN BUTTRICH is just as savvy, and its evident with the sounds on his new album "Crash Test" for their Desolat label; both SCOPE and NRK have been prominent these days, and they combine for Scopes' "Frequencies" EP, and includes remixes from NICK HARRIS and STEVE BUG; the icons over at Planet E drop SANDIEGO's "Memories"; MAKCIM & MANAGEMEND's "Boyism" is the latest EP for 2000 and One's Remote Area; fresh-faced Mannheim label Percusa come with their first release of 2010, BEN ANDERS "Moving Around" with a great FEDERICO MOLINARI remix; KRAUSE DUO's "Up" is the latest Philpot; crisp beats and rhythms make up STEVE LAWLER's remix of "Coffee Beans" on Be As One; BON & RAU are the rainy city's newcomers, and Smallville present the debut of another dreamteam with "Cloverleaf Days"; Lo-Kik doubles down this week with AARON UND PASCAL's minimal funk of "In The Beginning" and also drop "Vol 7" of their selected works; Voodeux's TANNER ROSS teams up with SERGIO SANTOS for "G Things" on the allmighty Mothership; MOODYMANC remixes MaStaFaktor's "Avocado Girl" for Apparel Music; and MOSSA's remix of 'NSG' is included on the first installment of "Bootlegs & Remixes" for the illustrious SWAYZAK.

Long standing UK label Paper has enjoyed a resurgence the past year, and they keep it fresh with broke beats and deep house from DACO's "Play My Mind"; PRINS THOMAS' self titled LP lets loose on Full Pupp; THE MOLE remixes COLE MEDINA's "Red Hot" on Internasjonal; ROBERTO AUSER & ALDEN TYRELL can't decide between "Blondes and Brunettes" on Bear Funk; "Gomma Electro Bombas" features the big beats of TELONIUS, GLIMMERS, FRED BERTHET and DISKOKAINE; Bonzzaj enlists SIMBAD to remix the CREATIVE SWING ALLIANCE's "Stratosbourg"; and ILIJA RUDMAN is featured with ARCHITEQ on "Mind Games" for Tirk along with pulling double duty on his EP "Calypso" for Red Music.
