WMC is officially underway, so we're taking a short break from the sun and action to give you this week's update. We're itchin' to get back out there and continue the excitement, so without further delay.....

The Funk

The Funky Minimal style--jackin beats with a super groove and tuff rhythm--owns it this week, kicking off with Bosconi's "Funky Lovers" from THE CLOVER. Hot on its tail, OFF comes through with CHRIS CARRIER's "La Fabourienne"; after having one of the hottest remixes on Freerange earlier this year with his version of'Attica', MAKAM drops an EP for Soweso, titled "Hide You"; LIL MARK takes a "Time Out" on his Bump Music label; FRANKIE J remixes RESCUE's "All Night Long" for Audio Indika; HOMERO ESPINOSA goes deeper "On The Other Side" for Tight, with EDDIE SPETTRO and CHAD NEIRO on the remix; LEIF remixes "S*it Don't Stop" on Trendy Mullet; HARD MIX! drops his "WMC Sampler", featuring a great selection of grooves perfect for the Miami vibe; MARIO DUBBZ re-edits STACY KIDD's "Razz A Jazz" for House 4 Life; and new label Motivic kicks off their label with the first release, "Motivic Selection 1".

Don't forget to include 'Deep' in your style filters this week, as it was an exceptional week for the sunken beats. Deep Explorer drops a selection from "The Golden Years", from REGGIE DOKES, DUBBYMAN, and ALTON MILLER; RON CARROL remixes "Don't Leave Me" on MN2S; RYO MURAKAMI from Dessous fame releases his first EP for Quintessentials, "Lunch Of God"; "Hold Me Tight" is the latest one on Wolf + Lamb; new label Divine starts it off right with ORLANDO VOORN's "Power of Beauty", featuring BLAKE BAXTER on vocals; DODI PALESE is "Into the Living" for Jay Tripwire's Tonality label; Third Ear gets deep and moody with SARASS' "Lust"; PHIL ASHER gets into the afro vibe with "Textya" for his Restless Soul Music; MR O takes an "Emotion Drive" on his latest EP for Nu Deep Music; LICKSAMBA & TOMMY LARGO team up with JAMON for "People Dancing" on Grooveland; the originator of House music, JESSE SAUNDERS celebrates 25 years with a collection of "The Greatest Hitz"; and FRED EVERYTHING drops his vocal and dub remixes of ATNARKO's "Solid Ground" for his Lazy Days imprint.

There was a bunch of solid music coming from the Tek side of things--fresh off their first release from Rodriguez Jr and Vincenzo, TwoBirds follow up with their second release, "Clicktrap" from DUB TAYLOR; another solid sophomore release, "Hello Dylan" comes from Air London, and this time around features tracks from SIMON BAKER and LEMOS; always solid, 8bit gets a bit deeper with UGLH & FEDERICO LOCCHI's "Meraviglioso"; MIKE MONDAY drops "Your Body" for Veryverywrongindeed, with TIM SHERIDAN providing the remix; "Psychosis" is a sampler of beats from the label of well respected Detroit techno pioneer, Twonz, Hijacked Records Detroit; "Sista O'Dissey" from Morris Audio features tracks from TILL VON SEIN and TIGERSKIN; KAISERDISCO's minimal beats with a twist is featured on his EP "The Early Bird" for Terminal M; MORITZ PISKE from Opossum fame, remixes "Blue Velvet" from MARQUESE on Niveous; and RADIO SLAVE gets a wicked remix in of "Migrants" for the young label Family Name.

Down-N-Out

Some Down N Out beats for your feet--JOY ORBISON's "The Shrew Would Have Cushioned..."; BOTTIN & RODION drop "Galli/Piazza Venezia" for Eskimo; NAUM GABO gets the "Pictur" on Thisisnotanexit; different time zones are featured on new label Clock, including CARL HANDBIG's "10:00 am"; CASIO SOCIAL CLUB drop the "Love Glove EP" for MULLET; and BPSS makes the "Situation Go Bang", with heavy beats from BEST MATE, YELLOWTAIL and HOUSE OF STANK.
